Happy Independence Day!

Today, the Philippines commemorates its 112th Independence Day. The Philippines was under the Spanish government for more than 300 years. It was Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo who proclaimed the Philippines as a sovereign republic after they defeated the Spaniards on the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish-American War.

As my share of our independence celebration, I am posting here a video of the song "Mga Kababayan ko" by the late rapper artist Francis Magalona. I chose this song because this is very inspirational. It reminds me that Filipinos should strive and be confident that we can reach our goals and ambitions. We should be confident and never be ashamed of our color and race. The song also describes the different characteristics of the Filipinos.
